Kira Krier has been a practicing licensed clinical social worker in Burlington, VT for the last 15 years. She is a certified EMDR therapist and consultant recognized by the EMDR International Association. She specializes in the treatment of trauma, grief, loss, depression and anxiety. Ms. Krier is committed to ending violence through education, outreach and advocacy. She is also a consultant for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. This work led her to be recognized for her dedication and commitment to survivors of crime by the Vermont Center for Crime Victims.
Krier’s vision is to provide trauma therapy to incarcerated people. In her role as DIVAS Education, Support, and Advocacy Co-Coordinator at Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility, Krier works with incarcerated female and gender non-conforming survivors of sexual and intimate partner violence by facilitating psycho-educational groups, providing one-on-one support, and teaching therapeutic coping skills and trauma informed practices. Her role earned her a Gold Coin Recognition from the Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility, the highest recognition for staff within the Vermont Department of Corrections.
